Opening Prayer

Song: “This Is Our God”
Words and music by N. DeGraide, D. Fournier, Z. Jones, D. Pland, and G. Romanacce

God, our Father, full of power, Maker of the heavens, Maker of the world;
forming all things seen and unseen,
truly the Almighty beyond all measured worth. Holy is His Name.

We believe the Lord our God is One, Father, Spirit, Son; this is our God!We believe forever He will reign. Let the church proclaim: this is our God!

Our Lord Jesus sent to save us, born unto a virgin, lived a perfect life;
greatly suffered, dying for us. From the grave He’s risen, seated now on high.
Holy is His Name.

We believe the Lord our God is One, Father, Spirit, Son; this is our God!
We believe forever He will reign. Let the church proclaim: this is our God!

Jesus will come back again to judge the living and the dead,
usher in the age to come; let everyone sing “amen.”

Jesus will come back again to judge the living and the dead,
usher in the age to come; let everyone sing “amen,”
let everyone sing “amen.”

Spirit, holy, One in glory, speaking through the prophets, empowering the Church;
life is given by and through Him, with the Son and Father, worshipped and adored.
Holy is His Name.

We believe the Lord our God is One, Father, Spirit, Son; this is our God!
We believe forever He will reign. Let the church proclaim: this is our God!

Hymn: “Holy Spirit, Living Breath of God”
Words and music by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend

Holy Spirit, living Breath of God, breathe new life into my willing soul.
Bring the presence of the risen Lord, to renew my heart and make me
whole.
Cause Your Word to come alive in me; give me faith for what I cannot see;
Give me passion for Your purity; Holy Spirit, breathe new life in me.

Holy Spirit, come abide within; may Your joy be seen in all I do.
Love enough to cover ev’ry sin in each thought and deed and attitude:
kindness to the greatest and the least; gentleness that sows the path of peace.
Turn my striving into works of grace; Breath of God, show Christ in all I do.

Holy Spirit, from creation’s birth, giving life to all that God has made.
Show Your power once again on earth; cause Your church to hunger for Your ways.

Let the fragrance of our prayers arise; lead us on the road of sacrifice,
that in unity the face of Christ will be clear for all the world to see.

Hymn: “God, Our Father, We Adore Thee”
Words: George W. Frazier. Music: John Zundel.

God, our Father, we adore Thee!
We, Thy children, bless Thy name!
Chosen in the Christ before Thee,
we are “holy, without blame.”
We adore Thee! we adore Thee!
Abba’s praises we proclaim!
We adore Thee! we adore Thee!
Abba’s praises we proclaim!

Son Eternal, we adore Thee!
Lamb upon the throne on high!
Lamb of God, we bow before Thee,
Thou hast brought Thy people nigh!
We adore Thee! we adore Thee!
Son of God, who came to die!
We adore Thee! we adore Thee!
Son of God, who came to die!

Holy Spirit, we adore Thee!
Paraclete and heavenly guest!
Sent from God and from the Savior,
Thou hast led us into rest.
We adore Thee! we adore Thee!
By Thy grace forever blest.
We adore Thee! we adore Thee!
By Thy grace forever blest.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Three in One! we give Thee praise!
For the riches we inherit,
heart and voice to Thee we raise!
We adore Thee! we adore Thee!
Thee we bless through endless days!
We adore Thee! we adore Thee!
Thee we bless through endless days!

Time of Prayer

Sermon: “The Work of the Spirit in the Life of the Believer”
Romans 8:12–17 (ESV)
12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

Hymn: “O Church of Christ, Invincible”
Words and music by Matt Boswell and Stuart Townend.

O Church of Christ, invincible, the people of the Lord,
empowered by the Spirit’s breath and nourished by His word.
His covenant of grace will be our portion evermore,
for He who called us will not change, our help and our reward.

O chosen people called by grace, the sons of Abraham,
who walk by faith in things unseen, and on His promise stand,
That every nation of the earth will hear of boundless love
That causes broken hearts to heal and pays our debts with blood.

O Church of Christ in sorrow now, where evil lies in wait;
when trials and persecutions come this light will never fade.
For though the hordes of hell may rage, their power will not endure;
Our times are in the Father’s hand, our anchor is secure.

O Church of Christ, upon that day when all are gathered in,
when every tear is wiped away with every trace of sin;
Where justice, truth and beauty shine, and death has passed away;
Where God and man will dwell as one for all eternity!

Benediction
Galatians 6:18 (ESV)
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
