Life Explored

Join us for a series of discussions about what life is all about. If you do, you’ll:

  • meet new people,
  • watch some beautiful and thought-provoking videos,
  • read some short passages from the Bible,
  • engage in an open discussion, and
  • learn some things that might very well change your life.

We’ll meet at Good Days at 99 S. Main Street in West Bridgewater to eat, watch some short, provocative videos, and discuss. The meals are on us. (That’s right: we’re paying, so there’s no cost to you!) We simply ask that you come on the following dates, be ready to meet new people, be ready to share, and be ready to learn.

More Details

We believe that life does have meaning, that there is hope, and that God has a great gift to offer all of us.

The seven meetings will be centered around a few things. First, we’ll gather each week in the back room at Good Days and we’ll eat. Order whatever you like. There will be no cost to you and others that come.

Second, we’ll get to know each other a bit, though we’re not here to probe into each other’s lives. No one will be asked to do anything they’re uncomfortable with. Though the church is hosting this event, it isn’t a church service. But it is a chance to get together with some new people and discuss the things that matter most.

Third, we’ll watch two videos each session. The first is an interesting video to get us thinking about something important. It’s hard to describe the videos, but they’re very well done. They are parables (stories with a message) in video form.

We’ll discuss what we see in that first video. Then, we’ll look quickly at a passage from the Bible. The whole Life Explored course is Bible-based and serves as a brief introduction to big story of the Bible. Most people have never read the whole Bible or even significant portions of it. Most people have often heard or witnessed distortions of the Christian faith. Life Explored is a very thoughtful introduction to Christianity. It shows the great hope that Christianity offers the world.

Fifth, we’ll watch a second video, which is a bit of teaching of how something in the Bible connects to our lives. The first videos range from 3-10 minutes or so, and the second video is usually more like 10-14 minutes. They’re both relatively short.

Finally, we’ll have a little more discussion and that will be it. We’ll do this all over a meal, so it might take 75-90 minutes, but hopefully no more.

We’re asking people to tell us if they want to come. Ideally, those who come would attend every session. But if you miss one or two, we can send you the videos and some of what we discussed together.
