Opening Prayer

Call to Worship
Psalm 111 (ESV)

Praise the Lord!
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,
in the company of the upright, in the congregation.
Great are the works of the Lord,
studied by all who delight in them.
Full of splendor and majesty is his work,
and his righteousness endures forever.
He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered;
the Lord is gracious and merciful.
He provides food for those who fear him;
he remembers his covenant forever.
He has shown his people the power of his works,
in giving them the inheritance of the nations.
The works of his hands are faithful and just;
all his precepts are trustworthy;
they are established forever and ever,
to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
He sent redemption to his people;
he has commanded his covenant forever.
Holy and awesome is his name!
10  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever!

Hymn: “Christ Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed!”
Words and music: Keith Getty, Kristyn Getty, and Ed Cash.

How can it be, the One who died has borne our sin in sacrifice
to conquer every sting of death? Sing, sing, “Hallelujah!”

Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing “Hallelujah!”
Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed:
“Christ is risen, He’s risen indeed!”

For joy awakes as dawning light when Christ’s disciples lift their eyes.
Alive He stands, their friend and King: Christ, Christ He is risen.

Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing “Hallelujah!”
Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed:
“Christ is risen, He’s risen indeed!”

Where doubt and darkness once had been,
they saw Him and their hearts believed;
but blessed are those who have not seen, yet, sing “Hallelujah!”

Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing “Hallelujah!”
Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed:
“Christ is risen, He’s risen indeed!”

Once bound by fear, now bold in faith,
they preached the truth and power of grace
and pouring out their lives they gained life, life everlasting.

Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing “Hallelujah!”
Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed:
“Christ is risen, He’s risen indeed!”

The power that raised Him from the grave
now works in us to powerfully save.;
He frees our hearts to live His grace. Go, tell of His goodness.

Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing “Hallelujah!”
Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed:
“Christ is risen, He’s risen indeed!”

Hymn: “Glorious Day”
Words: J. Wilbur Chapman and Mark Hall. Music: Mark Hall and Michael Bleecker.

One day when heaven was filled with His praises,
one day when sin was as black as could be,
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin,
dwelt among men, my example is He.
The Word became flesh and the light shined among us,
His glory revealed.

Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
buried, He carried my sins far away.
Rising, He justified freely forever;
one day He’s coming: Oh, glorious day! Oh, glorious day!

One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain.
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree.
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected,
bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He.
The hand that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
and took the nails for me.

Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
buried, He carried my sins far away.
Rising, He justified freely forever;
one day He’s coming: Oh, glorious day! Oh, glorious day!

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer,
one day the stone rolled away from the door.
Then He arose, over death He had conquered.
Now is ascended my Lord evermore.
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
from rising again

Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
buried, He carried my sins far away.
Rising, He justified freely forever;
one day He’s coming: Oh, glorious day! Oh, glorious day!

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,
one day the skies with His glories will shine.
Wonderful day, my Beloved One, bringing;
My Savior, Jesus, is mine.

Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
buried, He carried my sins far away.
Rising, He justified freely forever;
one day He’s coming: Oh, glorious day! Oh, glorious day!

Time of Prayer

Hymn: “Oh, How Good It Is”
Words and music by Keith Getty, Kristyn Getty, Ross Holmes,
and Stuart Townend

Oh, how good it is when the family of God
dwells together in spirit in faith and unity.
Where the bonds of peace, of acceptance and love
are the fruits of His presence here among us.

So with one voice we’ll sing to the Lord;
and with one heart we’ll live out His Word.
Till the whole earth sees the Redeemer has come,
for He dwells in the presence of His people.

Oh, how good it is on this journey we share
to rejoice with the happy and weep with those who mourn.
For the weak find strength, the afflicted find grace
when we offer the blessing of belonging.

So with one voice we’ll sing to the Lord;
and with one heart we’ll live out His Word.
Till the whole earth sees the Redeemer has come,
for He dwells in the presence of His people.

Oh, how good it is to embrace His command
to prefer one another, forgive as He forgives.
When we live as one, we all share in the love
of the Son with the Father and the Spirit.

So with one voice we’ll sing to the Lord;
and with one heart we’ll live out His Word.
Till the whole earth sees the Redeemer has come,
for He dwells in the presence of His people.

Sermon: “Bless and Do Not Curse”
Romans 12:14–21 (ESV)
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Hymn: “O Church of Christ, Invincible”
Words and music: Matt Boswell and Stuart Townend.

O Church of Christ, invincible, the people of the Lord,
empowered by the Spirit’s breath and nourished by His word.
His covenant of grace will be our portion evermore,
for He who called us will not change, our help and our reward.

O chosen people called by grace, the sons of Abraham,
who walk by faith in things unseen, and on His promise stand,
That every nation of the earth will hear of boundless love
That causes broken hearts to heal and pays our debts with blood.

O Church of Christ in sorrow now, where evil lies in wait;
when trials and persecutions come this light will never fade.
For though the hordes of hell may rage, their power will not endure;
Our times are in the Father’s hand, our anchor is secure.

O Church of Christ, upon that day when all are gathered in,
when every tear is wiped away with every trace of sin;
Where justice, truth and beauty shine, and death has passed away;
Where God and man will dwell as one for all eternity!

Revelation 22:21 (ESV)
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
